  • Help us help animals in Haiti!

As part of our Dental Health Awareness Month, we are raffling off a gift basket of dental treats and products. The gift basket has a retail value up to $116.88 and will be on display in our lobby through February 28, 2010 (basket shown has a variety of possible items.  Specific products will be selected based on the winning pet’s species & health concerns).

All profits from the raffle will go toward relief efforts for the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti (ARCH).

**We have a winner!!!  We drew a name today and Vicki King is our Dental Basket winner.  Her dog Chloe will be the lucky recipient.  With your help, we were able to collect $228.  Thanks to everyone who helped us out and donated money and / or bought tickets.  It was very much appreciated!  **

Facebook/twitter answer:

Q: How does a person become infected with animal parasites?

People, especially children, can be exposed to animal parasites when they work or play in

contaminated soil, such as in a sandbox or the garden, and accidentally put dirty hands in

their mouth. Parasite eggs cannot be seen by the naked eye but are present anywhere

stool from an infected animal is found. Sometimes fruits and vegetables growing close to

the ground, such as strawberries and carrots, are contaminated. If not carefully washed,

they can also be a source of human infection.
